I am a new student of Shirin. I am 50 years old and cannot say enough good things about her. My posture, bowing, fingering, ability to read music, and the 100% positive nervousness about what 'new' we will learn next week has made every minute a sheer joy. Speaking on behalf of all absolute beginners, Shirin has made the first steps a comfortable, enthusiastic, motivating and 100% fun experience. "When I moved from New York to LA, I decided to look into private violin lessons after failing miserably to try to teach myself. I contacted Shirin and started taking lessons and my progress in developing new skills grew exponentially from what I could do on my own. Shirin is patient and encouraging as a teacher, which really helps when trying to learn a difficult instrument (I play guitar and piano as well). Her lessons are challenging and have pushed me outside of my comfort zone with this new instrument which has helped me grow as a musician.
